Hello, I'm
At the age of 7, Najae was introduced into a youth development program that taught golf named The First Tee of Atlanta which is now The First Tee of Metro Atlanta. That program helped instill core values into Najae that she holds near and dear to her heart. Perseverance and Confidence are what she deems to be the most important core values to building up her character. She also pays homage to her curiosity as she enjoys learning new things and seeking out new experiences. Maybe that’s why she participated in math club, chess club and gymnastics when she was younger.
While battling obstacles of being an African American female in a predominantly male sport, she isn’t letting that deter her away from her goal of becoming an LPGA Tour Professional. Throughout her journey of junior golf, she has represented TFT in different leadership academies and skills competitions nationwide. She has also won her high school regionals tournament for 3 consecutive years and went to state all 4 years of high school. Her great play carried over to her collegiate career at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She was able to achieve all conference academic first team and all conference second team while there. She also helped lead her team to 2 NCAA regionals before the season got cut with the Covid Pandemic. Najae is not only very skilled on the course, but in the classroom as well. She averaged a 3.65 gpa and obtained 2 4.0 semesters while participating in different student clubs as an athlete.
Once she transferred to North Carolina A & T in her senior year of undergraduate, golf had to be put on hold as she was in a car accident a month and a half before returning to school. From not being able to walk and having to lay in a dark room for nearly a month, Najae is still fighting hard to achieve her professional goal. Though she was unable to compete her senior year and her first semester of graduate school, she used that time to obtain another goal of hers; A golf fashion line. With her childhood aspiration of being a designer/stylist and goal of being a pro golfer, it only made sense for her to combine the 2 things she loves.
As she works her way back up to her 8 hour practice days, she’s learned the importance of mental strength. After having recent surgery, alot is being put to the test. Her and her team are working diligently to overcome those obstacles so that she can see her name at the top of the leaderboard in an LPGA tournament while in her own apparel.
